Jim Morrison poems

WITHOUT A TRACE

We come to this world desperately,
we die in a fear of being dead.
Who could make up such a cruelty?

I would like to send a message
to the drafter:
Your plan is successfully done,
I’ll disappear without a trace,
I promise.

Jim Morrison

SEVEN SECONDS

At the first second, when you came into being you join us in a strange world. At the second second you grow up slowly you stare at the universal in wonderment. At the third second you’re still too young you believe false dreams you’re guided the wrong ways. At your fourth second you’re lonely just like a stone you choose somebody to love forever. At the fifth second you fight against thousands even you are not alone nobody helps you. At the sixth second an invisible army strangles down your body you’re gripped by the hand of time. At the seventh second you die. We forget you.

Jim

LAST MOMENT

You lost the taste of yesterday,
you get the progress of tomorrow,
you cover your perspired face
with your palm.

Your creaking laughing reminds me
the train, which we travel on, to the last moment.

LIFE IS A MOVIE

And the tired hand,
– as I’ve told about that -
lays aside the rolls in to the box
put the lid on.

INDIAN SUMMER

I love the best from all
I expect more than I get.
But everything has changed around here,
from the time the Indian Summer had found me.

ABUSED

Thank you God
we don’t know your motives.
You made us totally blind
take our hope
forced us into your giant trap
to bury us alive.
I’m alive but I’m dying
at the same time.

I hope you still have a good time.

EVERY MORNING

The night dies every morning
but she laughs at the day after all.
You must hide the sun from her,
I got through, but I’m still here.

I was looking for joy, your treasure
you cried for me and I forgot you after all,
I did find nothing, but love
I got through, come and find me.

Minutes, hours, days, weeks
passing by but you have to wait.
If a door opens in the distance
got through, come and follow me!

THE SPY

I know your words
even you have told me nothing.
I know where you are going
even you haven’t left yet.
I know your precious secrets
what you hidden deep down.
I know everything about you, baby
even I’m not a spy
I just simple love you.

I JUST CAN’T

It’s impossible to answer
a question which is not
even asked, I know.

I wish I ceased to think of you
but I can’t.
Your name is sered
deep in my heart
my love.

POWER

I could stop the world.
I could cover up the Sun
for a moment.

I could be invisible,
could be nobody either.
I could be giant, rich or poor.
I could upset the animate nature
I might as well overcome death.
I could create new Worlds far away.

I could.
I want.

ALWAYS DIFFERENT

Once I was on high
then I get deep done.
There was some time, when I had money
and often I run out of it.
But suddenly everything has changed
from the time I’m yours.

I’m your food, I’m your drink today
but one day I will be used up.
Then I will die no doubt.

RESIGNATION

We are drifting with current
to our death
with silent resignation.
Mad animal in a cage.

We are convicted to death
I hope somebody
was having a good time at least.
Our world is a civilized slaughter-house.

We are standing in a line, well-dressed animals.
I don’t blame any one.
Sharp God, and we ignorant beasts.

AT HALF WAY

I ask you again:
Do you know the silence?
Do you know the silence
of the left bread,
the silence
of the left wine?
Do you beseeching
noise of footsteps,
the dreadful loneliness
of the taken off veil?

ARS POETICA

I was born to sail away
to touch the land of my dreams
but evil wind filled my sails
and finally I lost my way.
The ship run aground of my life
and now, I lie here broken,
helpless.

He’d be so proud with that type of grammar -_-.
Although education might be a bit useless, and fills many with fear and despair.
You might want to listen a bit, it ain’t all that bad.
Until you realize, you’re in hell :D

    Jim,

You’re the greatest human to ever live. Not one person who has read one of your poems or songs didn’t feel something deep inside of them. You truely are the biggest influence of my life and many others too. Your poems and songs make me think. They put into question my beliefs and i really appreciate everything you’ve wrote. You’re the best.

I don’t think you understand him. Maybe you should try to see what he is talking about or at least let people have their own opinion without your judgment.

Yeah well your not very good at living. For living 27 years that man was a genius and if you don’t see anything in the poetry you are obviously not that smart. Go listen to something you can understand because Jim Morrison is too much for you.

    My poem to him

    MY FRIEND JIM

He was always along for the ride
Course now he’s gone to the other side
The American poet, my friend Jim
Why did he die in 71, God Damm him
His words and music are my soul
The ultimate orgasm to rock and roll
Drunk, stoned and insane, my friend Jim
I’m who I am, because of him
Any time I am in a world of distress
Turn up the music, gone is the stress
And God bless, Robbie, John and Ray
The tunes to make his and my day
When I go to the other side, the end,
He will be there, my brand new friend

Morrison a contemporary poet, to understand his plight you must understand the time in which he lived. Morrison dreamed to avoid waking and died to experience living. To Jim the other side was only to open the door and enter. Morrison’s vision was to find peace without hippocracy and love with out pain.

Did you find what you’ve been looking for Jim?

I love the poem Seven seconds by Jim Morrison. In school they asked us to pick a poem to memorize and to analyze it in front of the class. Everybody picked poems by classical poets like shakespeare but i frickin love jim morrison. I sort of know the general meaning of seven seconds but if anyone can analyze what it’s about, that would be great. Also if u know any other good poems by jim that are not too short, that would be awesome. Thanks

it is about life. the time span is broken down in seconds instead of years, each second basically the equivolent of a decade of life. thus, 7 second= 70 years.
      good luck.hope it helped you.

Long live the man who inspired, who boggled our silly human minds
thanks be to god for this one who lingers on the stage for more than money and fame for the sole purpose of making us think, even without the acid his ideas a lyricism wouldn’t change his mind was stronger than that vile addiction

if words leave us as touched as the sharp cold blade of a knife
    then cut we bleed

As a poet Morrison bore witness.
